Fashion magazines in Berlin

  1. DUST MAGAZINE
    ABOUT DUST

Dust is a biannual magazine born in 2010 based between Berlin and London and distributed worldwide. The intent of the project is to explore the universe of youth, in the context of a present time marked by a continuous state of crisis.

The interest is to enlighten the genuine and non-codified aspects of youth and of the new emerging generation by directing our gaze far from institutionalized geography and trends, and above the current standardization that tends to confirm the experience of youth in regulated forms. In our research, we cross conflicting territories, where structures collapse and the western codes of appearances dissolve into different kinds of choices, and different kinds of dynamics.

They like to underline silent geography, at the margin of mainstream paths, in order to rediscover a stronger attachment to life, somehow more vital, genuine and awake; something that is hard to find in the anesthetized youth presented by the disoriented circulating culture.

The territory in which we dig is ‘the crisis’ as the elected place were to redesign forms, ideas, values, and strategies for our generation to embrace a different way to conceive of life. they observe the collapse of stabilities taking place globally as an irreversible shift of scenario that’s pushing youth to the urgency of change, an urgency to find a new and proper vision.

DUST magazine is intent on creating, within the limits of any cultural product present in the market, this new vision. They consider the magazine a laboratory of ideas and concepts through which we search for a new esthetic and to give the image new value. Our personal interests go beyond the idea of coolness, trends, waves, or anything established by pop culture.

They prefer to direct our gaze to the basic, genuine way through which youth expresses itself, from where everything should be reconsidered.

    About ΠMagazine

Production-wise, Πstrives to maximize the potential of printed matter. Different paper qualities and special production features make Πan item that people like to hold, keep and collect. Fashion Designers in Berlin

  1. Pep Trapiello
Visions and obsessions formed by a shapeshifting society and its ever-changing needs. Harnessing personal contradictions in layers of conflicting surfaces. Architectural and sculptoric concepts employed to destroy and rebuild the human figure beyond gender barriers and preconceptions. Sketches and primal ideas are a statement in the belief that fashion is a flash concept. Pep Trapiello was born and raised in the Canary Islands, Spain. He studied in Madrid, where he graduated in fashion design and is currently based in Berlin, Germany.
  1. Sasa Kovacevic
Serbian-born, Berlin-based Sasa Kovacevic kicked up a fashion frenzy during the last Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. The designer runs SADAK, an independent fashion brand whose message, ‘pride in individuality,’ is immediately clear. His collection on the Mercedes-Benz runway was an ensemble of silky burkas with pastel Hawaiian prints, topped with an androgynous Spice Girl edge. His designs have even made it to Hollywood, making an appearance in the hit series The Hunger Games.
  1. JADE HELENE SHIMMIN
Jade Helene Shimmin is a South African born fashion designer and stylist. She studied at Fedisa, a private fashion institute in Cape Town, South Africa.
  1. Bobby Kolade
BOBBY KOLADE is constantly upping efforts to reduce the environmental impact of creating and consuming in the industry: all products are locally produced in Germany and fabric sourcing is handled with care. With a strict no-leather and no-fur policy, the search for comparable alternatives is an integral part of the design process. Take for example bark cloth, sourced from eco-friendly farms in Uganda, or hand-woven, chemical-free cotton from Ethiopia.
  1. Leyla Piedayesh
Leyla Piedayesh was born in Tehran in 1970. After studying business administration, she first came into contact with fashion professionally as editor of the “Designerama” television format at MTV Berlin.
In 2003 she began exploring her own design talent by making her own knitted accessories. Her celebrated debut collection was launched in 2004 at the fashion tradeshow Premium in Berlin. The concept of a symbiosis of urban cool and elegant chic based on high-quality knitwear really took off. Lala Berlin was born.
  1. Franziska Michael
Franziska Michael is a new name to keep a close watch on in Berlin. Diving into the world of 90s fashion, she resurfaces with beautifully mixed materials and bulky cuts to create fresh unisex looks. The lines between what traditionally belong to men’s and women’s clothing are blurred, and straight, solid, geometric cuts collide and contrast with soft, flowing, feminine silhouettes. Franziska Michael launched her brand in 2009, and she has since won the 2013 Premium Young Designers Award for Women’s Wear for her distinctive work.
